When court is in session and the judge has several defendants scheduled to appear before him,the Sheriff places the individuals on the benches and secures them. He is able to monitor several individuals in one location, thus eleminating an additional staff member to help monitor these individuals.The Sheriff as well as the Circuit Judge like the benches. I wanted to thank you again for the Prisoner Bench. This bench completed and complimented our new Courtroom. It is strong, easy to install and the arresting agencies love it. Bringing in a prisoner prior to having this bench was uncomfortable for everyone. Now, the prisoners are locked down on the bench and no one gives it a second thought.
